The vision of the new Strategic Action Plan for Strengthening HIS in Myanmar 2017- 2021 is "A strong health information system for a strong health system". The mission statement of HIS in Myanmar also developed during the strategic planning exercise is "Generating and making accessible comprehensive, integrated and timely health information for decision making at different levels of health system".

Myanmar National Strategic Plan on Viral Hepatitis 2016-2020

Viral hepatitis is more prevalent in Asia than other regions. From the survey done among the general population in 2015 in Myanmar, the prevalence of hepatitis B was 6.5% and hepatitis C was 2.7%.

The 67th World Health Assembly in May 2014 approved a resolution to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis. In November 2014, Myanmar initiated the establishment of a National Hepatitis Control
Program (NHCP) following the resolution set up by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Revised National Guidelines on Management of Tuberculosis in Children: National Tuberculosis Programme and Senior Paediatricians, Myanmar

This guideline was first developed in 2007 but further updated in 2012 and 2016 to ensure the use of the latest evidence-based international recommendations on childhood TB. The guidelines will fill the gaps in a systematic approach to TB in children and will help to achieve an internationally recommended standard of care at all levels of the health system in Myanmar.
