HSS is the systematic and regular collection of information on the occurrence, distribution and trends of HIV infection and factors associated with the infection for use in Public Health Action.

HIV sentinel sero-surveillance survey (HSS) is the systematic and regular collection of information on the occurrence, distribution and trends in HIV infection and factors associated with infection for use for public health action.

HIV surveillance is the systematic and regular collection of information on the occurrence, distribution and trends in HIV infection and factors associated with infection for use for public health action.

The general objectives of the review were to assess the progress of the national HIV/AIDS programme, especially in the areas related to health sector response, and provide recommendations for the revision of strategies and interventions.

The purpose of the 2005 Progress Report on the National Response to HIV is to provide a quick overview of the response to HIV and AIDS in Myanmar during the year.

This report presents the new HIV estimations and its demographic impact analysis based in a workshop that reviewed the data available from the previous HIV estimation workshop, which was held in September 2005 and HIV data for the years 2005 and 2006.

These guidelines have been written to serve all medical personal treating patients with HIV in Myanmar. It is meant not only for the National AIDS-STD programme but also for local in international NGOs, hospital doctors, and general practitioners in the public and private sectors.

This is the third edition of the Guidelines for the Management of HIV Infection in Children in Myanmar. As in the second edition, published in 2007, this document is the result of a consultative approach. It is necessary to revise and update the previous guidelines to keep up with current changes in diagnosis and management of HIV infection in children.

Guidelines have to be standardized and simplified as much as possible, while maintaining some flexibility, so that they may be used by the largest number of health personnel who do not need to be specialist to carry out Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) treatment for the maximum benefit of a large number of pregnant women.

The main purpose of the document is to standardize methodologies for surveillance across multiple sites. Additionally, the document can also serve as a training aid and a reference manual for supervision, monitoring and quality assurance.
