HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines: February 2021

In February 2021, there were 855 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) and were accounted to the total (84,610) reported cases since January 1984. Moreover, 17% (147) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infectionb at the time of testing. Ninety-four percent (804) of the reported cases were male. Of the total male cases, 2% (19) reported their self-identityc as female (transgender women) at the time of testing.

HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines: June 2016

In June 2016, there were 841 new HIV antibody sero-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) [Table 1]. This was 9% higher compared to the same period last year (772). This was the highest number of cases ever reported since 1984. Eighty-eight percent were asymptomatic at the time of reporting.

In May 2014, there were 495 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This was 19% higher compared to the same period last year (n=415).

HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines: March 2015

In March 2015, there were 667 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals. This was 34% higher compared to the same period last year (498), and was the highest number of cases reported since 1984. Most (96%) of the cases were still asymptomatic at the time of reporting.

In November 2013, there were 384 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This is 35% higher compared to the same period last year (n=284 in 2012).

In August 2013, there were 382 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This is 40% higher compared to the same period last year (n=272 in 2012).

In September 2013, there were 427 new HIV Absero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This is 35% higher compared to the same period last year (n=316 in 2012).

In January 2021, there were 890 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) and this comprised 1% of the (83,755) total diagnosed cases since January 1984. Moreover, 19% (172) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infectiona at the time of testing. Ninety-six percent (852) of the reported cases were male. Of the total male cases, 3% (24) reported their self-identityc as female (transgender women) at the time of testing.

In December 2020, there were 1,076 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP). Eighteen percent (198) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infection at the time of testing.
