In October 2013, there were 491 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry (Table 1). This is 66% higher compared to the same period last year (n=295 in 2012).

In June 2021, there were 1,496 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP). This was two times higher compared to the same time period last year (490). The increase in the number of diagnosed HIV cases this month was due to the inclusion of delayed reports from previous months. Sixteen percent (232) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infection at the time of testing.

In May 2021, there were 645 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) and were accounted to the total (86,617) reported cases since January 1984. Moreover, 16% (104) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infection at the time of testing. Ninety-four percent (607) of the reported cases were male. Of the total male cases, 2% (12) reported their gender-identity as female (transgender women) at the time of testing. Further, half of the cases (50% or 324) were 25-34 years.

In April 2021, there were 1,120 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) and were accounted to the total (86,771) reported cases since January 1984. Moreover, 17% (193) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infection at the time of testing. Ninety-six percent (1,076) of the reported cases were male. Of the total male cases, 1% (15) reported their gender-identity as female (transgender women) at the time of testing.

In June 2014, there were 494 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals confirmed by the STD/AIDS Cooperative Central Laboratory (SACCL) and reported to the HIV and AIDS Registry. This was 15% higher compared to the same period last year (n=431).

HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines: March 2021

In March 2021, there were 1,041 confirmed HIV-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP). Fifteen percent (156) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infectiona at the time of testing. Ninety-five percent (991) of the reported cases were male. The median age was 28 years old (age range: 6-65 years old). More than half of the cases (52% or 538) were 25-34 years old and 30% (316) were 15-24 years old at the time of diagnosis.
