Afghanistan Service Provision Assessment 2018-19

The 2018-19 Afghanistan Service Provision Assessment focused on tertiary/specialty and private hospitals. The assessment was conducted between November 2018 and January 2019. The overall goal of the survey was to gather information on the availability, readiness, and quality of health services in national specialty and provincial/regional hospitals, including major private sector hospitals in seven major urban areas (Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Paktya).

The 2015 Afghanistan Demographic and Health Survey (AfDHS) provides data for monitoring the health situation of the population in Afghanistan. The survey is based on a nationally representative sample. It provides estimates at the national and provincial levels, as well as for urban and rural areas.

Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey 2017-18

The 2017-18 BDHS generates evidence on basic national indicators of social progress including fertility,childhood mortality, fertility preferences and fertility regulation, maternal and child health, and the nutritional status of mothers and children. It highlights the major changes that have taken place in Bangladesh’s demographic and health situation since 1993-94. As a major source of data for program monitoring, the 2017-18 BDHS provides information for monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the 4th Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Program (4th HPNSP) and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve health services for the Bangladeshi population. This report provides estimates for 14 indicators of the results framework of the 4th HPNSP. Several indicators have shown steady improvements in child nutritional status and coverage of antenatal care and skilled delivery services over the years.

Papua New Guinea Demographic and Health Survey 2016-18

The primary objective of the 2016-18 PNG DHS is to provide up-to-date estimates of basic demographic and health indicators. Specifically, the 2016-18 PNG DHS collected information on fertility, awareness, and use of family planning methods, breastfeeding practices, nutritional status of children, maternal and child health, childhood immunisation, adult and childhood mortality, women’s empowerment, domestic violence, malaria, awareness and behaviour regarding HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other health-related issues.

Inequalities in Health Outcomes and Access to Services by Caste/Ethnicity, Province, and Wealth Quintile in Nepal

The primary objective of the further analysis of the 2016 NDHS is to provide more in-depth knowledge and insights into key issues that emerged from the survey. This information provides guidance for planning, implementing, refocusing, monitoring, and evaluating health programs in Nepal. The longterm objective of the further analysis is to strengthen the technical capacity of local institutions and individuals for analyzing and using data from complex national population and health surveys to better understand specific issues related to country need.

The 2015 Nepal Health Facility Survey (NHFS) is the first comprehensive assessment of health facilities in Nepal that harmonizes various health facility surveys among the MoHP and health development partners. The survey was designed to collect information from formal-sector health facilities in the country on the delivery of health care services and to examine the preparedness of facilities to provide quality health services in child health, family planning, maternal and newborn care, HIV, STIs, non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and malaria.
