Publications on People Living With HIV (PLHIV)

GIPA means the Greater Involvement of People with HIV/AIDS, and derives from a principle embedded in the Paris AIDS Summit Declaration of 1994. At this summit, leaders of 42 nations met together to determine how they could effectively respond to the AIDS crisis.

The GIPA initiative works to give space for those closest to the epidemic, listen to their voices and include them in the solutions of the enormous challenges posed by HIV/AIDS in South Asia.

This document is designed as a component in the response that is necessary to address the pressing care needs of person/people living with HIV/AIDS (PHA) in Cambodia. It is written primarily for health care workers who are involved in the care of adults and adolescents (>12 years of age) living with HIV/AIDS.

In 2002 the Indonesian Ministry of Health, with ASA/FHI/USAID conducted a National Estimates of Adult HIV Infection. Those estimates were a great step to estimate the magnitude of burden diseases in the future.

This facilitator's guide presents new knowledge and skills for delivering and organizing clinical care and treatment services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

This strategy paper is intended to help chart the nature of the epidemic in East Asia and the Pacific, to survey some of the successful practices being pioneered in its cities, provinces and countries and to offer suggestions as to how the distinct characteristics of the HIV/AIDS epidemic faced in each country can be addressed by effective and comprehensive responses.

The 2003 Technical Report provides the facts and figures gathered by the National HIV/AIDS Sentinel Surveillance System (NHSSS) from 1993. It includes data from the AIDS Registry, the Serologic Surveillance and the Behavioral Surveillance. This report also features the data from the newly setup Sentinel STI Etiologic Surveillance System.

The goal of the HIV/TB strategy is to reduce HIV/TB- associated morbidity and mortality through collaboration between national AIDS and national TB programmes.

This report, building on the strengths of Khmer HIV/AIDS NGO Alliance (KHANA) and its partners, focuses on the current and future opportunities for KHANA, and other NGOs, to support access to ARV treatment for people with HIV.
