These guidelines have been written to serve all medical personal treating patients with HIV in Myanmar. It is meant not only for the National AIDS-STD programme but also for local in international NGOs, hospital doctors, and general practitioners in the public and private sectors.

The Adolescent Peer Organised Network (APON) project grew out of a large Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) programme aimed at providing basic education to underprivileged children, especially girls, who have not previously attended primary school.

The parallel Ministry of Education Life Skills Secondary School Curriculum was subsequently launched in the year 2000, with additional topics to comply with updated School Health objectives.
