HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines: February 2017

In February 2017, there were 849 new HIV antibody seropositive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP). This was 13% higher compared to the same period last year (751). Eighty-nine percent of those were asymptomatic at the time of reporting.

In November 2016, there were 758 new HIV antibody sero-positive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) [Table 1]. Eighty-nine percent of those were asymptomatic at the time of reporting.

In June 2015, there were 772 new HIV Ab seropositive individuals (Table 1). This was 56% higher compared to the same period last year (494) [Figure 1] and was the highest number of cases reported since 1984. Most (96%) of the cases were still asymptomatic at the time of reporting (Figure 3).

In April 2015, there were 560 new HIV Ab sero-positive individuals (Table 1). This was 42% higher compared to the same period last year (393) [Figure 1]. Most (94%) of the cases were still asymptomatic at the time of reporting (Figure 3).

In July 2018, there were 859 new HIV antibody seropositive individuals reported to the HIV/AIDS & ART Registry of the Philippines (HARP) . Twenty-two percent (193) had clinical manifestations of advanced HIV infection (WHO clinical stage 3 or 4) at the time of diagnosis.
