Biography

Dr. Kamarulzaman is currently Professor and Head of Infectious Diseases at the University of Malaya. She has directed and managed the development of infectious diseases in both its clinical and research components. She has been actively involved in the community response to HIV/AIDS in Malaysia; led the advocacy on implementation of harm reduction measures for HIV injecting drug users.

She is President of the Malaysian AIDS Council, Chairperson of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, and Chair of the IREAT Asia Steering Committee.

Dr. Kamarulzaman is an editorial board member of several medical publications, a member of many professional associations, and has published extensively on medical subjects, including HIV.
